Understanding Money

The Australian Government's "The Financial Literacy Foundation" launched a new website as a part of a campaign that is about raising awareness of personal financial and household budgeting issues, with the aim to help all Australians to better manage their money.

The web site, www.understandingmoney.gov.au
, provides an initiative for advancing financial literacy of Australians, and it works in partnership with government, industry and community organisations.

The initiative aims to change perception of money issues and ultimately equip people to ask the right questions and make better financial choices by "creating opportunities for Australians of all ages to learn more about money - at school, through vocational and higher education, in the workplace and in the community" and "providing practical support to educators and trainers and working to improve the availability of quality financial literacy education resources".

www.understandingmoney.gov.au has tools to help you manage your money better, and you can also order a free book "Understanding Money" with "loads of information that can help you make your money work harder".
